Developer Diary: Adventure Games
19 August 2002
I enjoy playing adventure games. And a good plot that doesn't take itself too seriously makes an adventure game worth playing again and again.
My list of favourite adventure games includes the Monkey Island and Leisure Suit Larry series' and, of course, Grim Fandango. The puzzles are always so interwoven; so much that you never realise how deep they go. The stories are well driven and exciting. The graphics are enjoyable, but aren't the driving force.
Flummaxed is such an exciting project. I've never before worked with such a group of fantastically talented and motivated people, who have united to take on the task of making and releasing an adventure game. It's a lot of fun, but a lot of work. It will be all worth it, when eventually, I can add Flummaxed to the list of adventure games I enjoy playing again and again.
Over the coming months of development, other members of the team and I will post our comments on the progress of the game, sharing any insights. If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas, send us an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
